When all the "elves" at Starbucks on International and Zinfandel drive set out to accomplish a goal, they really do it BIG!
The project to adopt a family for Christmas started just a little after Thanksgiving, but due to information flowing slowly to the group, it was not moving very quickly. The community group offered a family name, and began helping to get the employees more information on how to provide it to the family.
As the days passed, Linda Palmer noticed the box was still a little dry, and began encouraging people to read and think about giving. Well, that and with the rest all pitching in all efforts to fill the box, in just a few short days the gift contributions were overflowing the box!
Most patrons, either new or regular to this coffee shop all have stated at some point that this place feels like home. They all believe that the warmth and compassion the employees show to them makes them feel welcome and very comfortable there. So much so that even if you are new, if your routine matches those there, you will get to know the regulars and become one yourself!
The employees wanted to be sure the Paradis family had a holiday to remember, and as you can see by the photo to the left the will! There were three more in the back room, and patrons were leaving food and more gifts as of December 23rd, the delivery date!
Starbucks is a place to start your day, and when you start it with a group of people that have shown such community pride and spirit like the patrons and the employees at this location, you will know exactly where to find that community you may be seeking.
Rancho Cordova Community (those who work and/or live here), the employees of Starbucks, and this support group will be making sure this family has been given at least equal to the measure Jonathan, Erin, Carlie, and Ryan Paradis have given to this community, state, and nation through military service in the California National Guard.
